Every year, millions of tons of food waste is sent to our landfills.
Food scrap recycling is the process of collecting our food scraps in a separate receptacle so that they can be diverted from the landfill and processed into a nutrient-rich soil product called compost.
Our annual composting impact so far is equivalent to the weight of 100+ elephants worth of waste diverted from the landfill!
Composting offers numerous positive impacts on the Earth, primarily by reducing waste and improving soil health
Separate your organic waste at any of our designated trash station slots located on each floor.
This includes items such as food scraps, napkins, paper towels, compostable cups & plates!
All non-compostable items can be placed in the other designated slot at our trash stations.
This includes items such as metal, foil, aluminum cans, plasticware, plastic containers or plastic wrappers, glass or bottles.
A big thank you to The Compost Exchange and The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) for supporting our efforts to reduce food waste and make the community greener.
