Owner, Troy, has a deep-rooted love for Jamaican and Caribbean food which has inspired him to share this passion with their customers and give them that island experience that is rare in the city. The Jerk Spot team pride themselves on consistency and presentation, and their meals are a statement of the heart.
Troy Wheat, owner of The Jerk Spot, has 20 years of experience in the culinary industry. Raised in Columbus, he has 12 years of work experience at various Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) concepts. He credits most of his training came from working for CMR, in addition to being self-taught. He also earned a few awards such as the Best of Springfield Caterer award and the Wooden Spoon award from Second Harvest Food Bank. Wheat is excited to bring his authentic & infused Jamaican Cuisine to Budd Dairy Food Hall at their Hatch stall.
