Cameron Mitchell Restaurants adds two new chef partners to food launchpad’s roster

COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 14, 2019) – Budd Dairy Food Hall announced today its next two chef partners – Modern Southern Table, created by Sadaya “Daisy” Lewis, and Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen, created by Jordan Lamatrice. The budding concepts will join other previously-announced chef partners, Darista and Borgata, later this year when the highly-anticipated food entrepreneurial launchpad opens.

Budd Dairy Food Hall is the first chef-driven food incubator in Columbus and is currently under construction in Columbus’ bustling Italian Village neighborhood. The innovative dining and entertainment venue will give the city’s top up-and-coming chefs the opportunity to grow as entrepreneurs and to serve their community in a unique gathering space.

Modern Southern Table owner, Daisy Lewis, is familiar with community food spaces. She got her start in the food court of Colony Square Mall in Zanesville, Ohio, after winning the Food Network’s “Food Court Wars” in March 2014.

“Food is our passion and we love creating new delicious southern dishes featuring fresh, natural ingredients and authentic flavors,” said Lewis. “We are thrilled to join Budd Dairy Food Hall and look forward to sharing meals made from scratch and with love with the Columbus community.”

The other chef partner joining Budd Dairy Food Hall’s impressive roster is Alphabetical Comfort Kitchen. Owner Jordan Lamatrice knows a thing or two about the food industry from his food truck and catering company, which serves classic sandwiches, salads, soups and sides with a twist, such as the house-seasoned French fries smothered in Beer Gut Chili. He’s ready to move to his first physical location at Budd Dairy Food Hall, surrounded by other creative chefs.

“By creating this food incubator, the team has offered me an unparalleled opportunity to operate my business on the next level,” said Lamatrice. “I can’t wait to work with the other chef partners and see the quality and variety of food offered.”

More chef partners will be announced in the coming months, rounding out the food hall’s lineup of 10 diverse cuisines. Budd Dairy Food Hall will bring those fares together under one roof with community seating, a top-notch beverage program and live music and entertainment. The one-of-a-kind gathering spot also will feature a rooftop deck, interactive games, event space and more.

“The four chef partners we’ve announced so far are going to bring an amazing diversity of food to Budd Dairy Food Hall,” said Steve Weis, Cameron Mitchell Restaurant’s vice president of development. “This effort is an exciting marriage between two of Columbus’ strengths: food and entrepreneurship.”

The concept is a partnership between Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and local developer, Kevin Lykens. CMR will provide management of the overall concept and will provide all services related to Budd Dairy’s culinary, beverage and entertainment programs.
